| At Iskander Racing, stallions are our business. We are dedicated to the Australian Thoroughbred industry, in particular, stallion acquisitions and broking, and the co-marketing and co-management of stallions with major studs. When it comes to stallion broking, Iskander Racing has a distinct advantage over its competitors, as we are experienced in every aspect of a stallion deal. We have bought stallions. We have sold stallions. We deal with studs as a stallion owner and as a broodmare owner. We sell nominations. We buy nominations. As a stallion broker, we see a stallion deal from every perspective. Our research team analyses a number of horses every day, searching for the right horses to get involved with. Stallions are our focus and we take each horse very seriously. If you have a stallion prospect, we can help you find the best stud and the optimum result for him. Iskander Racing's unique approach to marketing our stallions has proven to be very successful. Initiatives such as our million dollar bonus continue to set us apart from our competitors, giving our stallions a unique edge. The company is the brainchild of Sheriff Iskander, who has raced horses successfully in Sydney since 1996. John Messara and the team at Arrowfield Stud first introduced Sheriff to the racing industry, with his first horse being Lion Hunter, who went on to enjoy great success at stud. Iskander Racing now has relationships with most of the major commercial studs in Australia and in the United States. Sheriff is a graduate of the University of Technology Sydney, where he gained a business degree majoring in accounting with sub-majors of business law and marketing. He founded the accounting firm 'Alexanders' in 1990, and has seen that business grow from a small private practice employing only himself, to a medium sized firm with a number of divisions including financial planning, commercial property, marketing and media, and IT. Please visit the Alexanders website for more information.
Sheriff has also helped pioneer laser eye correction technology in Australia, with his company 'Perfect Vision Laser Correction' becoming an industry leader in less than three years of operation. To find out how Perfect Vision can help you, visit the Perfect Vision website. A joint initiative between Iskander Racing and Perfect Vision Laser Correction is 'Perfect Vision Fashions'. The Perfect Vision Fashions website displays photos from all the major racedays and other events within the industry, as well as fashion commentary and style tips. To visit the website, click here. The company holds a major interest in the promising young Danehill stallion Honours List, and was instrumental in the syndication and promotion of the stallion. Iskander Racing has also assembled a substantial broodmare band. Caulfield Guineas winner God's Own has gone from strength to strength in the stallion barn, and was one of the top 10 stallions by matings in 2007. Last year God's Own book featured both quantity and quality, with a healthy concentration of group winners and stakes producing broodmares. Standing at Eliza Park, he is quickly becoming one of the most popular sires in Victoria. Our first shuttle stallion, Southern Image has received rave reviews for his first foals produced in 2007. Southern Image is the best performed Halo line stallion currently standing in Australia. From eight US starts, be had six wins, including five consecutive wins. He showed speed as a 2yo when he won over 1200m (6 furlongs) in 1:08 3/4. He won back-to-back $1 million races, and a massive three Gr. 1 races. Southern Image stands at Taylor Made Farm in Kentucky during the Northern Hemisphere season, and stands at Widden Stud for the Southern Hemisphere season. Written Tycoon commenced stud duties at Eliza Park in 2007. The group winning colt is one of Australia's hottest first season stallions, and Iskander's have maintained a large equity in him. Written Tycoon has a pedigree packed with precocity, which will most likely make him an invaluable source of early maturing speed. Primus also stood his first season at stud in 2007. During his racing career, this son of Flying Spur was placed in Group 1 company on a number of occasions, and won the Group 3 Tramw ay Handicap. During his first season at Chatswood stud, Primus received over 120 mares and looks set for a top career at stud. Iskander Racing also stand's talented son of Lion Hunter Ferocity in conjunction with Oaklands Stud in Queensland. Being precocious, striking and talented, Ferocity is a seemingly logical replacement for his ill-fated sire Lion Hunter, a champion first season sire who continues to shine as one of the leading sires in Australia. Ferocity won the Group 2 Ascot Vale Stakes in 2005. A time honoured race, the Ascot Vale Stakes has proven to be a race that is won by colts who meet with exceptional success at stud. Encosta De Lago, Kaapstad, Zeditave, Century and Vain have all won the race. Iskander Racing is also involved in other areas of the industry, including bloodstock consulting, thoroughbred trading, corporate and private sponsorship, and industry consulting. Iskander's has a strong relationship with Chris Waller Racing, and have had a close association with this young trainer for some time. Recently appointed as the new trainer for Bob Ingham, Chris' training career is on the up and up. Needless to say this exciting young trainer is on the up and up and we are extremely proud to be associated with him. Sheriff has successfully raced horses with other top trainers like Gai Waterhouse, Peter Hayes, Tony McEvoy, Brian Mayfield-Smith, Gerald Ryan, Kris Lees, Paul Messara, Michael Moroney, Danny O'Brien, Mark Kavanagh, Greg Hickman, Tim Martin, Joseph Pride, and David Hayes. Sheriff's stallion ownerships or racing interests include: Lion Hunter - proven stallion Just Awesome - proven stallion Danzero - proven stallion Charge Forward - entering his first season at stud Honours List - first crop are 4yo's this year Pure Theatre - first crop are 2yo's this year Written Tycoon - one of the Australia's hottest stallion prospects, first season at stud in 2007.
